Oyo NNPP Chieftain, Elekunle extols Festus Adejumobi,lauds devt.strides in Saki community

  A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party , NNPP, Alh. Modinat Elekunle, has extoled the development strides facilitated by the National Chairman of Saki Parapo, Festus Adedayo Adejumobi.  A former deputy Governorship Candidate of the party in the last 2023 General elections in Oyo State ,made the commendation in a statement on Sunday as part of celebration marking the birthday of the henchman of the great city.   By Kaseem Jenrade The newly installed Baale of Arinoye Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Chief Jenfa Paul Oyedokun Adegbola 1 has charged the people of Arinoye to promote unity, love and togetherness within the community, most especially among market men and women, in order to achieve peaceful co- existence among different tribes in the area. The Grand Chief Imam of Sepeteri land , Engr. Abdulhakeem Demola Raji, has expressed concerns over the alleged plot to depose the Sultan of Sokoto by the sitting Governor of the state,Ahmad Aliyu.   The Eminent Club of Nigeria(Okeogun),has commiserated with the people of Okeogun and Nigeria in general over the death of a former Accountant-General of the federation, Jonah Otunla.  Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla, the former Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) in Nigeria died at the age of 69. He was born on June 12, 1955, and passed away on June 17, 2024, at a hospital in the United Kingdom after a short illness . During his career, he also served as a board member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and was a chartered accountant . Hajj 2024: NDLEA Arrests Iseyin-born Intending Pilgrim, 3 others with Cocaine Consignments in Lagos

  Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided Emerald Hotel, Ladipo area of Oshodi, Lagos State where some intending pilgrims to the ongoing hajj in Saudi Arabia , one of them ,Fatai Yekini, were lodged and caught in the act of ingesting wraps of cocaine ahead of their flight to the holy land on Wednesday 5th June 2024. Those arrested during the intelligence-led operation include: Usman Kamorudeen, 31; Olasunkanmi Owolabi, 46; Fatai Yekini, 38; and a lady, Ayinla Kemi, 34.  According to a statement by the NDLEA Spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, the four suspects were lodged in two rooms in the hotel where they had prepared 200 pellets of cocaine weighing 2.20 kilograms to swallow when NDLEA officers stormed their rooms.  One hundred wraps of the Class A substance were recovered from each of the two rooms bringing the total seizure to 200 wraps. Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel, has performed the swearing-in ceremony for the 11 newly elected councilors in the council . Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel, on Monday,3rd June,appointed the Oje-Owode born financial intelligence expert, Olagbenro Michael Olabisi,as the Chief of Staff.  Hon. Adedokun, made this disclosure at the inauguration ceremony of the elected councillors,held in Ago-Amodu,the headquarters of Saki East LG.  His appointment, the Chairman is optimistic that Olabisi will bring his wealth of experience and expertise to full discharge in this critical role, especially given his administration a new dimension of good governance.
