Commit yourself to meaningful laws and programmes,Adedokun tells Councillors

  


In line with constitutional obligation and to strengthen democracy in the LG ,Hon. Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel, has performed the swearing-in ceremony for the 11 newly elected councilors in the council .

The event which took place on Monday, 3rd June ,2024, held at Agoamodu Town Hall, the headquarters of Saki East LG. 

Speaking at the event, council boss enjoined the new councillors to see their assumption of office as a call to service at a very critical time, harping on the need to work diligently and remain focus, avoiding distractions and divisive sentiments.

Speaking further , Hon. Adedokun charged them for an efficient discharging of ther duties , encouraged them to commit themselves to meaningful laws and programmes that wil benefit the people of their communities , saying to whom much is given, much is expected. 

Hon. Adedokun,promised that his administration will embark on developmental projects that will ensure that people at the grassroots also benefit from the dividends of democracy. 

He also told them that , they have been elected to come  and provide their worths in the service of the area and her people. 

The event witnessed the councillors taking the oath in the presence of the LG officials led by the Director of Administration and General studies,Mr. Ishaq Abdulazeez Alaraje .

He charged the newly elected councilors as if they had only few weeks to deliver and leave their marks in their respective communities and to see themselves as personalities to rescue mission, adding that they have come to be part of the success story of the administration and to contribute their own quotas.

Charging the newly-inaugurated councillors to be magnanimous in victory, Adedokun said it was incumbent on them to take a cue from current government’s penchant for prompt and proactive service delivery.

In his remarks after taking their oath of office , Hon. Kola Abimbola tasked them to hit the ground running by providing adequate, quality and equitable services on a consistent basis.

He said it is more profitable to deemphasise party differences and concentrate on providing good governance to improve the living conditions of the people.

In his speech,Member ,representing Saki East and Atisbo constituency at the State Assembly, Hon. Siaminu Ridwan Gbadamosi told the councillors to maintain the limits of their office and work harmoniously with their principal creating a synergy that will add value to the people and guided them to treat their principal with dignity and ensure timely constitution of their legislative functions. 

Subsequently, elections into Principal offices were conducted to oversee the affairs of the Legislative arm.

The inaugurated councillors are Thomas Elisha Olugbemga from (Agbonle), Awolola Julius S. (Ago-Amodu I),Adeyemo Lamina Adesina (Ago-Amodu II),Atilola Julius (Ogbooro I), Olowolayemo Abbas (Ogbooro I I) ,Saliman Fatai A.

(Oje-Owode I),Oke Adeyemi Timothy (Oje-Owode II), Olawuwo Dotun Abraham (Sepeteri I),Jimoh Nafiu Akanbi (Sepeteri II),Adeola Ebenezer (Sepeteri III), Adebayo Adesola David (Sepeteri IV)

However, Hon. Adedokun Olalekan Emmanuel, also appointed a financial intelligence expert, Olagbenro Michael Olabisi,as the Chief of Staff. 

His appointment, the Chairman is optimistic that Olabisi will bring his wealth of experience and expertise to full discharge in this critical role, especially given his administration a new dimension of good governance.

In attendance at the event were the Special Adviser to the governor for Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo constituency, Alh. Waheed Oluwakemi, 

Hon. ( Deacon) Kola Abimbola , Hon. Ojo Babatunde. 


Others include traditional rulers, religious leaders, and chieftains of the Peoples DemocraticParty (PDP) among others.
