The Oyo State Executive Council on Tuesday approved the renaming of the Okeogun Polytechnic, Saki after a stateman and politician, Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleosho.

  Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided Emerald Hotel, Ladipo area of Oshodi, Lagos State where some intending pilgrims to the ongoing hajj in Saudi Arabia , one of them ,Fatai Yekini, were lodged and caught in the act of ingesting wraps of cocaine ahead of their flight to the holy land on Wednesday 5th June 2024. Those arrested during the intelligence-led operation include: Usman Kamorudeen, 31; Olasunkanmi Owolabi, 46; Fatai Yekini, 38; and a lady, Ayinla Kemi, 34.  According to a statement by the NDLEA Spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, the four suspects were lodged in two rooms in the hotel where they had prepared 200 pellets of cocaine weighing 2.20 kilograms to swallow when NDLEA officers stormed their rooms.  One hundred wraps of the Class A substance were recovered from each of the two rooms bringing the total seizure to 200 wraps. FEC Approves Construction Of Saki/Okerete Road, 27 Others Worth N1.267trn

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction of 28 roads and bridges across the country worth over 1.2 trillion Naira. The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this shortly after the FEC meeting held on Monday. He said the projects were approved by FEC having gone through the Bureau of Public Procurement and Certificates of No Objection secured. Umahi also said FEC approved the construction of Buruku bridge across Katsina Ala River in Benue State worth over 83.7 billion Naira while an approval was given for construction of 91.432 road at Saki in Oyo State worth 144 billion Naira. However, the FEC approved the stepping down of the road construction from Biu-Kanga-Gaya to the border of Niger Republic costing about 158 billion Naira. Meanwhile, FEC has approved the setting up of an Infrastructure Fund to be known as the Renewed Hope Infrastructural Fund.
