Adeolu Akande calls for unity to promote development of Oke-Ogun


The former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC),Professor Adeolu Akande, has called on the people of Oke Ogun in Oyo State to close ranks and work for the development of the zone.

Professor Akande also called on well to do indigenes of the area to collaborate and provide succour to indigenes of the area who are in need of support,noting that government alone cannot solve the problem of all citizens.

Professor Akande made the plea in Oke Amu,  Itesiwaju local government area of Oyo State, at the celebration of the 33 year coronation anniversary of the monarch of the town, Oba Kasali Omotosho Fadeyi 1 and fund raising for some  development projects in the town.

Professor Akande identified indigent students,widows and people with physical disabilities as people who deserve the attention and support of well to do indigenes of the zone. He said the present economic situation in the country requires the rich  to assist such members of society. He specifically called for collaborative efforts to support students in addition to the Student Loan initiative President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Professor Akande who served as Chief Launcher at the event donated N2.2million in support of the development initiatives to mark the 33 year anniversary of the a monarch on the throne.
