Shun violence, choose love over hatred, Peller urges Christians on Easter

A member of the House of Representatives at the ninth Assembly, Honourable Shina Peller, has urged all to choose love over hatred, peace over violence and good over evil in the spirit of Easter. Honourable Peller, who is the Ayedero of Yorubaland, made this call on Sunday while congratulating Christians on the occasion of the 2024 Easter celebration. The former lawmaker stressed that Easter symbolizes victory over loss, forgiveness, love over hatred, gain over pain, joy over sadness, peace over violence as well as good over evil. Also, the Oke Ogun-born businessman cum politician urged all to embrace all the good things that Jesus Christ represented which he said include peace, love, humility, forgiveness, tolerance, patience and charity. In the same vein, he enjoined everyone to reach out to the needy, rekindle the hope of the hopeless and touch lives positively in whatever way they can during and after Easter. FEC Approves Construction Of Saki/Okerete Road, 27 Others Worth N1.267trn

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction of 28 roads and bridges across the country worth over 1.2 trillion Naira. The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this shortly after the FEC meeting held on Monday. He said the projects were approved by FEC having gone through the Bureau of Public Procurement and Certificates of No Objection secured. Umahi also said FEC approved the construction of Buruku bridge across Katsina Ala River in Benue State worth over 83.7 billion Naira while an approval was given for construction of 91.432 road at Saki in Oyo State worth 144 billion Naira. However, the FEC approved the stepping down of the road construction from Biu-Kanga-Gaya to the border of Niger Republic costing about 158 billion Naira. Meanwhile, FEC has approved the setting up of an Infrastructure Fund to be known as the Renewed Hope Infrastructural Fund. Foundation offers monetary scholarship to 20 students of Oke-Ogun Poly

A Non-government Organization concerned with students affairs,Mary Joe Foundation, has awarded a monetary scholarship to 20 students to promote educational development and ease the financial burden of accessing tertiary education faced by students from low-income families, by providing financial support needed to guarantee their continuous learning and educational development.   The Eminent Club of Nigeria, Okeogun Chapter, has criticized the remarks attributed to the Ogbomosho Recreation Club regarding the proposed bill for the creation of Okeogun State. Heavy Downpour Ravages Schools In Okeogun

  By Jenrade Kaseem Residents of Oke Amu town in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State,have been counting their losses and lamenting untold hardship caused by the heavy downpour that occurred on Saturday night. Residents while speaking with Okeogun News Reporter ,Kaseem Jenrade said the rainfall that started around 10pm on Saturday night with heavy storm and lightening destroyed schools,houses, shops and also vandalized electricity poles and cables. Okeogun news crew who visited some of the affected places in the town discovered that ,the complete classroom blocks of Oke Amu Community College were ravaged and some roof and ceilings of Muslim Basic Primary School ,Oke Amu were carted away. Also electricity poles and cables were seen on the road destroyed by the rainfall.
