Foundation offers monetary scholarship to 20 students of Oke-Ogun Poly




A Non-government Organization concerned with students affairs,Mary Joe Foundation, has awarded a monetary scholarship to 20 students to promote educational development and ease the financial burden of accessing tertiary education faced by students from low-income families, by providing financial support needed to guarantee their continuous learning and educational development.

The scholarship award held on Wednesday,20th March at the 500 capacity hall of the Okeogun Polytechnic, Saki .

In his remarks, the Dean of Students' Affairs,Mr. Adeoti M.O outlined the significant contributions and charitable efforts of the foundation within and outside Oyo State,saying the services to humanity are well appreciated . He encouraged other foundations to stretch their helping hands to the students .

Speaking on the development,the founder of the NGO,Mrs Alice Mary,represented by a team ,emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives ,said the Foundation aimed at promoting educational development within low-income families, increase literacy and provide scholarship. 

 “The foundation’s aim is to promote educational development within low-income communities and increase literacy . MaryJoe Foundation  would continue to ease the financial burden of accessing basic education faced by students from low-income families, by providing financial support needed to guarantee their continuous learning and educational development"

The coordinator of the educational relief-support, Mr. B.O Afolabi, maintained that the beneficiaries were randomly selected through her social Network and active participation in their activities. 

This newspaper can authoritatively report that, Mary Joe Foundation has been committed to assisting the neglected children, empowerment for abused women, widow's welfare and orphan educational services. 

Reacting to the development, the SUG President, Umar Faruq acknowledged the positive impact of the monetary scholarship to ease the financial burden of the beneficiaries as a result of the economic realities. He charged the beneficiaries to be diligent in their primary assignments.

The beneficiaries unanimously owed a debt of gratitude to the foundation ,says the gesture would further reduce their financial burdens.
