Cashew truck crushes motorcycle in Saki, two women narrowly escape death

 

Two-women narrowly escaped death on Tuesday evening, 21st May,2024 when a six tire truck lost control and fell on a motorcycle along Sango-Okeogun Polytechnic expressway,Saki.

According to an eyewitness, the tragedy which occurred at about 6.40p.m.,caused panic and traffic jam as road users and passers-by scampered for safety.

The accident happened within close range of the Saki West LG secretariat .

The truck which was loaded with bags cashew nuts was said to have lost control and fallen on the motorcycle which was badly damaged.

ITV Online  learnt that the truck driver escaped from the scene of the accident for fear of being lynched by the irate mob, leaving his truck and the goods behind.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident was caused due to high speed by the driver of the truck which resulted in him losing control of the wheels.

Residents of the community have lamented prior to this accident about the state of the road which has resulted in several deaths in the past.

They have also complained about the reckless activities of truck and tanker drivers who frequently ply the road.
