Investiture of Rep. Tajudeen Abisodun as Asiwaju Adinni of Saki: A round peg in a round hole||BalogunUthman

On April 21st, 2024, Saki came to a stand still as the Grand Chief Imam of Saki Land celebrated a momentous 20-year anniversary as the town's spiritual leader. It was a moment of fervent prayers, celebration and thanksgiving on Saturday, as hundreds of jubilant Muslim adherents thronged out to rejoice with Sheikh Abdulazeez Jejekumi on this milestone anniversary.

The Chief Imam is one million rolled into one given the totality of his quintessential personality. His twenty years of service have been truly remarkable. He has established himself as the source of wisdom, symbolizes the way a Muslim is

admonished to live: peaceful, humble, honest, forthright and

selfless.

The Grand Chief Imam’s guidance has been truly

exemplary. Saki is a shinning example of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different religious groups, thanks to his exceptional leadership qualities. Without a doubt, of Sheik Azeez's numerous qualities make him a valuable asset to humanity and a special gift from God to the human race. Almighty Allah has not only blessed him with longevity, but also with great talent and wisdom that he has deployed over the years in unblemished service to our community.

The peak of the anniversary celebration is the Chief Imam’s decision to confer a well-deserved title on Honorable Tajudeen Abisodun Wẹrẹ, a member representing Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as the Asiwaju Adini of Saki Land, meaning the leader of Muslim adherents.

The general acceptance and ovation that trailed the selection of Honorable Tajudeen were unsurprising and less amazing to those who have been keenly following the remarkable tapestry of the just-turbaned Asiwaju Adini of Saki Land. He is a man whose mind and orientation have been rightly framed and well-cultivated for the role God has crafted him to play on the stage of life. The selection of Honorable Wẹrẹ as Asiwaju Adini was a well- thought-out decision after a rigorous process and not a spontaneous choice by the dedicated Committee on Chieftaincy.

The roll call of dignitaries was as intimidating as it was an attestation to the social stature of Honourable Wẹrẹ in his hometown and beyond. Observing notable politicians from different parties sharing seats and engaging in a tete-a-tete further solidified Honorable Tajudeen's reputation as a unifying figure, a personality seen as the big tree under which eminent figures take shelter.

The recognition is a fitting tribute to a man who exemplifies the spirit of service that is at the heart of Islam. He has always been unapologetically proud of his Muslim identity influencing a new generation of young Muslim politicians to embrace their faith and serve their people with purpose. Honorable Tajudeen Abisodun, the Asiwaju of Saki Land has a legendary record of contributions as an agent of community and national development and as one who is strongly and positively committed to Islamic causes, shaping and influencing socio-political and economic transformation trajectory of his constituency.

The conferral of the Asiwaju Adini demonstrates the Chief Imam’s deep trust and confidence in Honorable Wẹrẹ. It was Alfred Adler, the Austrian medical doctor renowned for his holistic theory of personality, psychopathology and psychotherapy, who rightly observed that ‘’men of genius are admired, men of wealth are envied, men of power are feared, but only men of character are trusted.’’ All over the world, particularly in advanced climes, men of intellect and people who in the true sense of the word are noble and honourable in thoughts and deeds, are highly venerated far above men of means and wealth. This implies that nobility of character is a more valuable and dignifying asset than other material assets. It is this category of men that my leader, the man of the moment, belongs.

As one who has high reverence for Allah and acknowledges His enabling Grace upon his life, he has made remarkable contributions to the promotion of his faith,Some of the very notable social development interventions and contributions he has made  includes the development of Islamic institutions, his promise to build and donate a 1,000-capacity Hall to the College of Nursing, Saki, promotion of charity endeavors and helping to construct and complete various mosques.

Honourable Wẹrẹ's unprecedented achievements as a lawmaker in education health care and social welfare, which have positively touched countless lives endeared him to the Grand Chief Imam. Sheikh Abdulazeez Jejekumi has never hidden his admiration for Honorable Wẹrẹ. He has, over the years, publicly poured encomiums and praises on the experienced legislator. For the Chief Imam, honoring him is just a heartfelt expression of gratitude for his dedication and transformative impacts in the Muslim community.

The result of a good work is more work. With the investiture as the Asiwaju Adini of Saki Land, Honorable Tajudeen Abisodun now has to redouble his efforts and continues to thrive, orchestrating support, faith, guidance and devotion for the Muslim community of Saki Land. May Almighty Allah guide and guard him. Ameen.
