Immigration Places Former Governor Yahaya Bello on Watchlist

 


The Nigeria Immigration Service has placed former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, on a watchlist. The NIS has instructed security agencies to arrest Bello upon entry or exit from the country.


In a letter authored by Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, D.S. Umar, on behalf of the Comptroller-General, Kemi Nandap, the Service highlighted Bello's ongoing trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja for alleged money laundering. Addressed to the Directors General of the DSS, NIA, and the Inspector General of Police, the letter urged these security agencies to apprehend Bello should he attempt to enter or leave the country.

  Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided Emerald Hotel, Ladipo area of Oshodi, Lagos State where some intending pilgrims to the ongoing hajj in Saudi Arabia , one of them ,Fatai Yekini, were lodged and caught in the act of ingesting wraps of cocaine ahead of their flight to the holy land on Wednesday 5th June 2024. FEC Approves Construction Of Saki/Okerete Road, 27 Others Worth N1.267trn

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction of 28 roads and bridges across the country worth over 1.2 trillion Naira. The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this shortly after the FEC meeting held on Monday. He said the projects were approved by FEC having gone through the Bureau of Public Procurement and Certificates of No Objection secured. Umahi also said FEC approved the construction of Buruku bridge across Katsina Ala River in Benue State worth over 83.7 billion Naira while an approval was given for construction of 91.432 road at Saki in Oyo State worth 144 billion Naira. However, the FEC approved the stepping down of the road construction from Biu-Kanga-Gaya to the border of Niger Republic costing about 158 billion Naira.
